East China Grid 2030 Resource Adequacy Assessment Dataset

This dataset supports modeling of hourly operations in the East China Grid (ECG) for the purpose of assessing summer system operations and resource adequacy under different policy scenarios and stress conditions.

Input data include:

  • Generator fleet  operational characteristics and costs , including coal units startup costs. 
  • Fossil fuel prices
  • Renewable energy availability (wind and solar profiles)
  • Inter-provincial transmission network
  • Inter-provincial power transfer constraints, based on historical interprovincial flow data and provincial time-of-use rate structures 
  • Provincial load profiles
  • Energy storage and demand response costs and operational characteristics 

This dataset also includes the corresponding simulation results under different policy combinations and stress scenarios.

Simulation outputs include:

  • Power dispatch
  • Renewable energy curtailment
  • Inter-provincial power flows
  • Utilization of inter-provincial transmission capacity
  • Non-served energy (NSE)
